The Show Will Go On
Air travel may be way down. The aviation industry
is in a horrifying slump. The United States is still wrapping up
wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. And yet, interest in air shows seems
to be booming. And for those who plan on attending this year's big
air show in Dayton (OH), someone's going to have to pay for the
ride between the parking lot and the flight line.
"Inventing Flight: Dayton 2003" has announced Fifth Third Bank
will be the Official Transportation Sponsor of "Inventing Flight:
The Centennial Celebration." In an agreement between Inventing
Flight, Fifth Third and RTA, a transportation system has been
established that provides free and convenient shuttle service for
the entire Miami Valley to all events associated with The
Centennial Celebration.
A Ride To The Show
As the transportation sponsor, Fifth Third, in conjunction with
RTA, will provide 15 buses with Inventing Flight/Fifth Third wraps,
25 buses with signage and 4 trollies. The buses will be in service
during event hours and will take passengers to all of the
events.
The public is encouraged to use this free system
to visit any of the events associated with the celebration
throughout the 17 days. Park and rides will be located at four
convenient sites, including:
- North - Dayton International Airport
- South - University of Dayton Arena
- East - US Air Force Museum
- West - Salem Mall
"This is such an exciting year for the entire Dayton community.
We, at Fifth Third Bank, are especially pleased to join with
Inventing Flight and RTA in making this special announcement today.
As the Official Inventing Flight Transportation Sponsor, Fifth
Third is especially pleased to provide area families the
opportunity to take full advantage of the many events planned in
July through this partnership with Inventing Flight and RTA,"
commented Dan Sadlier, Fifth Third Bank President.
