Blackshape Launches The Bk160 – Gabriél

New Airplane Is A Two-Seat Tandem Aircraft With Outstanding Performance And EASA CS-VLA Certification

Italian aircraft manufacturer Blackshape introduced the new Bk160 – Gabriél at AERO Friedrichshafen earlier this month.

The company said in unveiling the aircraft that the Bk160 – Gabriél represents a major milestone in the small aircraft sector with a full glass-cockpit resembling modern military trainers.

The airplanes aggressive attitude with sporty finishing are inspired by the hand-made tailor style with a touch of "Italianness" in its design.

The airplane has a top speed of 164kts and a generous flight envelope of +5 -2,5g.

The manufacturing of the Bk160 – Gabriél relies on modern and robust technologies such as its full pre-impregnated carbon fiber airframe as well as robotic assembly and a lean "smart factory approach.

Blackshape has already obtained its Design Organization Approval from EASA together with its first Type Certificate in the EASA CS-VLA category. The aircraft now available to the market, targeted towards experienced pilots looking for a fast and agile cross-country airplane or advanced flight schools.
