Bombardier's Safety Standdown 2020 Goes Virtual

The 24th Edition Of This Safety Conference Is Undergoing A Transformation

Bombardier, like so many others these days, has decided to go virtual for this year's Safety Standdown.

"At Bombardier, health and safety is a priority, and as the COVID-19 pandemic redefines our lives, we continue to follow processes and procedures to ensure our employees and our aviation community have the peace of mind they need and deserve. This attentiveness to health and wellbeing extends to Safety Standdown 2020."

Originally scheduled to take place August 25-27, 2020, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Wichita, KS, the 24th edition of this popular industry safety conference has undergone a transformation for this year. Because of the importance of Safety Standdown among the aviation community, Bombardier is exploring ways to bring this must-attend event to everyone in a virtual format, enabling them to explore cutting-edge safety information in the comfort of their own home.

This year’s event will provide information centered on the theme to keep “Safety in Focus 20/20” -- keeping the focus on safety and help promote specific goals and tangible outcomes to achieve a vision of an improved safety culture and safety performance.

Safety Standdown organizers added that, "We are working with some of the most respected safety leaders in the industry to build a program that highlights the safety information you need to change the relevant and thought-provoking principles of aviation safety to your operations. Additional information on the virtual Safety Standdown event will be forthcoming as we finalize the details.

As we forge ahead, I want to thank you again for your continued commitment and support. Safety Standdown remains a pillar of the aviation community, and while this year’s edition will be presented in a different format due to the current pandemic, our modified event will continue to offer content that highlights the safety practices and mindset that are essential to our industry."
