"The numbers quoted... are inaccurate. ALPA will not publicly comment on the specifics of the tentative agreement prior to our governing body and our pilots having a chance to read the agreement, digest it and ask questions concerning the agreement."

Source: Air Line Pilots Association spokesman Mike Pinho, commenting on a Wall Street Journal report over the weekend that purported to know details of the tentative agreement reached between the union and Delta Air Lines management. The WSJ said the deal provides Delta with up to $290 million in concessions -- close to the $305 million the airline said it needed -- and makes permanent a 14 percent pay cut pilots took "temporarily" in December. ALPA has not released details of the deal, and will not do so until the union's leaders review the package in a meeting set to begin Wednesday in New Orleans.
