2009 Arlington Fly-In To Feature RC Aircraft Displays

The Latest Generation Of RC Aircraft Will Be Shown... And So Much More

It's no surprise to those of who fly that the concept of 'Flying' has been one of the most common and most enchanting fascinations of mankind.

For those enamored of the model side of the aviation equation, this year's Arlington Fly-In has much to offer... and if you weren't interested in RC models before, this Fly-In may change that for you. From basic electric flyers to fast flying jets and turbine powered helicopters, the Academy of Model Aeronautics chapters from three counties, have teamed up to show it all at the Arlington 2009 Fly-In July 8-12.

Display includes antique engines, homebuilt aircraft, gliders, jets and helicopters. Simulators will be on hand for you to try your hand at the controls. Each day during the airshow a featured Radio Controlled flying demonstration will take place. Now with advanced remote control technology, you can give flight to your fancy in a different way. Experts will be on hand to discuss building techniques, places to fly and the requisite flying stories.

Displayed aircraft scheduled to be shown and flown include WWI era fighters to modern day jet fighters, antiques and one of a kind scratch built.

The Arlington Fly-In is the third largest sport aviation event in the US. Over 1,000 aircraft and 60,000 guests participate in the week long festival of aviation. The 2008 Arlington Fly-In will be held July 8 – 12, 2009 at the Arlington Municipal Airport.
