Why a 767 Has 10 Tires

When Good Tires Go Bad...

United Airlines has confirmed one of its flights had an emergency landing at Los Angeles International airport after the flight crew reported a problem with one of the aircraft's 10 tires. The flight landed safely and without incident at 7:36pm PST on Monday.

UA 16, a 767-200 (-300 shown), carrying 75 passengers and 11 crew members, originated in Los Angeles and was bound for John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. The flight departed Los Angeles at 4:00pm PST and was scheduled to arrive in New York at 12:04am EST.

United reaccomodated the passengers on another aircraft.
