STMPs For Indianapolis And Rochester Planned For August

Next month, NBAA tells ANN that the FAA is planning to implement STMPs (Special Traffic Management Programs) for airports in Rochester, New York and Indianapolis, Indiana.

STMPs are implemented for special events that attract thousands of people and aircraft to participating airports. To properly manage the flow of arrivals and departures for these events, the FAA requires users to make arrival and departure reservations to and from these airports.

In anticipation of heavy air traffic in conjunction with the Brickyard 400 auto race, slot reservations will be required at Indianapolis International Airport (IND) and Eagle Creek Airport (EYE) between Friday, August 1 and Sunday, August 3.

Special procedures also will be in effect from Sunday, August 10 through Sunday, August 17 at seven airports near Rochester, New York, where the PGA Championship golf tournament will be held.
