AMA Announces Partnership With NIFA

Nation’s Largest Model Aircraft Organization And Collegiate Aviation Education Organization Collaborate To Provide UAV Opportunities For Students.

The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), the nation’s leading voice for model aircraft flying hobbyists, and the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA), a collegiate organization dedicated to developing and advancing aviation education and safety, have formed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore collaborative opportunities for university students to become involved in model aviation. This agreement also means that the organizations will provide increased visibility for each other through outreach and communications channels.

“The AMA is extremely proud to associate with NIFA and work to provide UAV [unmanned aerial vehicle] activities for an organization that has developed an arena for collegiate aviation competition,” said Bill Pritchett, AMA director of Education.

The National Intercollegiate Flying Association was formed for the purposes of developing and advancing aviation education; to promote, encourage, and foster safety in aviation; to promote and foster communications and cooperation between aviation students, educators, educational institutions, and the aviation industry; and to provide an arena for collegiate aviation competition.
