So... Ya Wanna Buy An Airline's Motivational Posters (And Other Discards)?

Remnants Of Independence Air Go On The Auction Block

Have you ever wanted an Airbus A319 cabin trainer? That'd look great in your living room! Okay, then how about a slide-trainer -- for when you have to leave the party in a hurry or just don't want to use the front door?

If these items are on your shopping list -- then you positively need to be at Dulles Airport this weekend, where what's left of Independence Air goes on the auction block.

Alas, the planes aren't up for sale, nor is the carrier's former operating certificate (Northwest grabbed that up, for its own regional upstart, Compass Air) -- but just about everything else is. From simulators to office furniture, to airplane tugs and motivational posters... all sorts of items are up for sale at the auction.

Even pilot gear -- leather jackets and the like, will go to the highest bidder.

Personally... we're hoping to win at least one 1,600-gallon de-icing unit. We hate scraping the windshield in winter. Or maybe a ticketing kiosk...
