Another Trike CFI!

Sport Pilot Progressing

Wayne Bezner Kerr, of First Light Aviation in Ithaca, NY, successfully completed the FAA requirements for Flight Instructor, Trike (Weight-shift control) Tuesday. The examining instructor/DPE was John Ballantyne from Frederick, Maryland.

Bezner Kerr is a competent and well known trike pilot, reporting over 1700 hours of trike time. He and his wife Rachel have been involved in flying for over 15 years. They also worked and flew with the Trumpeter Swan Migration Project for four years.

He was already an Ultralight instructor, and had to take one written and two practical exams to become a Sport Pilot CFI (Weight Shift Control). First he had to pass the sport pilot test, and then the flight instructor test. Despite some low clouds and rain in the area, they managed to get the job done safely.

The flight tests were conducted in Ballantyne's Air Creation/912/KISS trike at Harrison Farm (8MD5), near Libertytown, Maryland.

Congratulations!
