E-Jet Number 700 Delivered To British Airways

Aircraft Will Be Operated By BA CityFlyer

Embraer says it reached a significant milestone Monday with the delivery of its 700th E-Jet - an Embraer 190. The handover ceremony to British Airways was held Monday evening at the Company's headquarters in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, a little over a year after the 600th E-Jet was delivered, in September 2009. The aircraft will be operated by BA CityFlyer, British Airways' wholly owned subsidiary, which operates international and domestic routes from London City Airport (LCY).

"The delivery of the 700th E-Jet is a great achievement for Embraer, and we are especially proud that such an internationally renowned, world-class airline is the recipient," said Paulo Cesar de Souza e Silva, Embraer Executive Vice President, Airline Market. "British Airways is a very special customer and we are satisfied to see the full benefits of the E-Jets being put to good use at LCY and across BA CityFlyer's growing network."

The aircraft is configured with 98 seats. It will join BA CityFlyer's fleet of ten E-Jets: five Embraer 170s and five Embraer 190s. Last month, the airline confirmed two additional options for the Embraer 190, which will increase its fleet to 13 E-Jets by the second half of 2011.

"It's a great honor for BA CityFlyer to be a part of this highlight in Embraer's history, by receiving the 700th E-Jet," said Peter Simpson, Managing Director of BA CityFlyer. "A little over a year after we began operating the E-Jets in our fleet, we can affirm that the introduction of this aircraft family has been a great success, and we have received very positive feedback from our customers. Having a combination of the Embraer 170s and Embraer 190s in the same fleet gives us superb flexibility, enabling us to match capacity with demand on our existing routes and to develop our network."
