Poberezny Names New Doc To EAA Aeromedical Advisory Council

Dr. Gregory Pinnell Hails From Saginaw, MI

Experimental Aircraft Association President Tom Poberezny has appointed Dr. Gregory Pinnell of Saginaw, MI to the EAA Aeromedical Advisory Council.

Representatives with the group tell ANN Dr. Pinnell is a board certified family practitioner licensed in both Indiana and Michigan. He is a senior aviation medical examiner who currently practices as a primary care physician in a multi-specialty care center in Saginaw.

An instrument-rated private pilot, Dr. Pinnell has served as an EAA Pilot Advocate, helping EAA members regain their medicals for the past six years.

Dr. Pinnell serves as a Flight Surgeon for the 434th Air Refueling Wing, Grissom Air Reserve Base, United States Air Force Reserve Medical Corps. He also frequently supports the Space Shuttle program through the Department of Defense-Human Space Flight Support Office.

The EAA Aeromedical Council oversees a volunteer group of more than 160 highly skilled doctors who volunteer their time and expertise in assisting EAA members and staff on FAA medical certification issues. Most recently the Council worked closely with the FAA on reducing the backlog of medical certifications.

Aeromedical Council Chairman, Jack Hastings, stated that he had personally witnessed Greg's interest, enthusiasm, and hard work on behalf of EAA members with problem aeromedical certification. "We all welcome Greg to the Council and look forward to his participation in the council's important work lying ahead."
