Lambert Records Third Straight Year Of Passenger Growth

Nearly 15.4 Million Passengers Traveled Through STL In 2007

Officials with Lambert-St. Louis International Airport tell ANN the airport recorded its third straight year of passenger growth during 2007, serving 15.38 million passengers. The number of boarding passengers at Lambert increased 1.5 percent for a total of 7.7 million passengers.

In 2007, Lambert’s airline partners recorded a nine percent increase in the number of passengers per departure. The busiest travel months of 2007 were June, July and August; the summer travel season was part of a six-month stretch of increased passenger service levels over 2006.

Lambert’s newest airline, AirTran Airways came on board in May, 2007. It has now served more than 197,000 passengers through December 31.

In 2007, the airport also completed the majority of renovations for a new cell phone lot west of the Main Terminal on Lambert International Boulevard. The 150-space, free waiting zone features a large Airline Display Board to give users additional information about arriving flights.

Lambert is the 33rd busiest airport in the US as ranked by Aiports Council International-North America. Lambert serves more than 15 million passengers a year with 342 daily departures to 72 national and international destinations.
