More Powerful Model Takes To The Skies
Aero-News has learned last Tuesday, October 24, the new Evektor
VUT100-131i SuperCobra advanced high performance aircraft took to
the skies from Evektor's headquarters at Kunovice Airport in the
Czech Republic. The all-metal SuperCobra -- with seating for four,
retractable landing gear, and powered by a 315-HP Lycoming
IO-580A1B -- made two successful 30-minute demonstration
flights.
"It's a real predator in the sky. I'm very impressed with the
SuperCobra's amazing performance -- rate of climb and high cruise
speed. With its advanced cockpit comfort it will be a fantastic
pilot touring airplane" reported Evektor test pilot Mr.
Charvat, who has also been testing also the preceding 200-HP model
VUT100 Cobra.
Evektor states that like the Cobra, its SuperCobra sports
outstanding performance parameters -- offering a top cruise speed
of 175 kts, range of 1000 nm and useful load of 1260 lbs.
The airplane's cabin is the widest in its class, and is equipped
with state-of-the-art integrated avionics. A Sagem glass cockpit is
standard.
Evektor says first deliveries are planned after completion of
EASA CS-23/ FAA FAR-23 certification at the very beginning of 2008.
Deliveries of the 200-HP VUT100 Cobra, which is now undergoing EASA
certification trials, are scheduled in the second half of 2007.
Evektor will also exhibit the Cobra at general aviation airshows
in Europe and USA in the next year -- at Germany's Aero in
Friedrichshafen, and AirVenture 2007.
Evektor America, based in Kerrville, TX, will also exhibit the
Cobra cabin mock-up at next week's 2006 AOPA Expo. The event runs
November 9-11 in Palm Springs, CA.
