Stephen Ganote Named President Of Washington Space Business Roundtable

Group Promotes Commercial Space Businesses And Eduction In Washington, D.C. Area

At its August 2012 meeting, the board of the Washington Space Business Roundtable (WSBR) named Stephen Ganote its President for the 2012-13 fiscal year. Mr. Ganote replaces Dennis Granato of Lockheed Martin Space Systems and will be responsible for overseeing all WSBR activities.

"I am excited for the opportunity to continue expanding WSBR's work facilitating collaboration among space and satellite industry leaders and supporting space and science education in Washington, D.C.-area schools," Mr. Ganote said. "On behalf of the WSBR Board, I particularly want to thank Dennis Granato for his leadership over the past two years, helping guide the Board as we significantly increased our support of space and science education in the Washington region."

Mr. Ganote is a Principal at Avascent, the leading management and strategy consulting firm serving clients in the aerospace and defense industries, and has served on the WSBR Board for the past five years. For the past three years, he co-chaired the Education Committee, helping increase WSBR's support of Washington, D.C. public schools by expanding aerospace-related scholarships for students and teachers in science, technology, and math.

As a Principal at Avascent, Mr. Ganote focuses on serving clients in the space, communications, and defense technology markets. He leads a range of engagements, bringing insight to clients on strategy, market analysis, due diligence, organizational structure and innovation. Prior to joining Avascent, Mr. Ganote was in Booz & Company's Aerospace & Defense practice, where he advised leading private sector and government clients. He previously held business development and corporate strategy positions at Intelsat and has spent almost two decades in the satellite and communications industries.
