HFI Announces 2015 Scholarships

Application Deadline Is November 30

Recognizing the need for qualified commercial helicopter pilots and helicopter maintenance technicians, Helicopter Foundation International (HFI) is offering a variety of scholarships to help support students studying to become part of tomorrow’s industry.

HFI will offer up to eight Bill Sanderson Aviation Maintenance Technician Scholarships and one Michelle North Scholarship for Safety. Applications for these scholarships are already being accepted.

Starting September 1, HFI be accepting applications for up to four Commercial Helicopter Rating Scholarships and up to six Maintenance Technician Certificate Scholarships. More information regarding these two scholarship types, including application requirements and forms, will be posted on the foundation website in mid-August.

Applicants for the Commercial Helicopter Rating Scholarship must already have their private license and be enrolled in a commercial helicopter rating program at an FAA-approved Part 141 school or international equivalent. Applicants for the Maintenance Technician Certificate Scholarship must be enrolled in a maintenance technician certificate program at an FAA-approved Part 147 school or international equivalent.

HFI says that monies are paid out to selected applicants only upon successful completion of their program and following attainment of permanent FAA certification.

The deadline for all applications is 11:59 pm on November 30, 2014.
