Paula Kraft Appointed To Women In Corporate Aviation Board Of Directors

Owner Of Aviation Catering Business Elected During Annual Meeting In March

Women in Corporate Aviation (WCA), an organization which is dedicated to providing networking, education, mentoring and scholarship opportunities for women, and men, seeking a profession in corporate aviation, has elected Paula Kraft, the founder of Tastefully Yours and Aviation Catering Consultants, to its Board of Directors. Paula was nominated in February and officially voted onto the board at the WCA annual meeting held in Tennessee in March 2013. Mary Ann Fash, Senior Flight Manager for flight services for The Boeing Company was also appointed at the same time.

As board member Paula (pictured) has been tasked with raising the profile of the organization to the international corporate aviation market place and to strengthen relationships between the organization and the media by regularly communicating information about its activity, events and meetings. Paula joins a board of 11 which is currently chaired by Brenda Miles, and will use the various aviation exhibitions and events around the world as opportunities to maximise the visibility of the Women in Corporate Aviation objectives. “To be voted on to the board of such a significant association is a great honour for me. I am very much looking forward to working more closely with the directors to create new and interesting ways of raising the profile internationally.”

Paula was invited to join the board owing to her business aviation catering expertise and the extensive international knowledge of the industry she brings to the association. Her championing of the need to improve standards of food handling,  the mentoring she provides through training those involved with aviation catering and the development of a sophisticated Safety Management System for aviation catering all contributed to ensuring her place amongst the directors.

Paula has now delivered over one hundred safety in food handling related courses through the Aviation Catering Consultants division she launched just over eighteen months ago to increase industry awareness about the importance of safe food handling. The courses focus on mitigating the risks of food borne disease whilst handling food and attendees have included corporate flight attendants, aviation catering companies, FBO professionals and even senior figures within the US military. The offering is continuing to expand and has recently seen development of independent modules tailored for specific clients and industry sectors.  Paula will be speaking on this subject at this year’s European Corporate Flight Attendants Conference, (ECFAC), when the symposium takes place on 20th May ahead of Europe’s leading business aviation event EBACE 2013 in Geneva. Women in Corporate Aviation will also have a presence at the ECFAC event and will use Paula’s participation to raise its profile to the European aviation community.

WCA has just returned from ABACE where it shared a booth with Alaska Aerofuel. "The response among the attendees was very positive," says Paula, "and many of the people we spoke with were eager to have another forum to network with other professionals in the field. With the exciting developments of an enhanced ECFAC for 2013 we are anticipating that the WCA will receive the same attention from potential new members at EBACE in May.”
