Levil Develops Symbiotic Relationship Aeroglass, Xavion And Trutrak

Wearable HUD Puts Your Panel On Your Head

By Dave Juwel

Levil Technology Corporation makes a complete navigation solution offering AHRS, AD-AHRS, GPS, and ADS-B. They have now partnered with Aero Glass to provide their system with a HUD which is seen through glasses. Then they partnered with Xavion and Trutrak to provide a comprehensive navigational autopilot. All of this for less than $10,000.00.

Aero Glass provides a unique turnkey solution addressing pilots' need to properly visualize terrain, navigation, traffic (ADS-B), instrument, weather, and airspace information with access to vital safety procedures and protocols, without the requirement of inspecting instruments, phone or iPad. Using Epson Moverio, Google Glass and other Head-Mounted Displays, Aero Glass is the first to bring Augmented Reality to pilots providing an unparalleled 3D, 360° experience in the cockpit, regardless of the visibility.

X-Avionics is the database for this partnering. However, they are temporarily suspending sales to new customers. They have found that data, aviation development, and liability insurance costs are not consistent with App Store one-time purchase pricing. For this reason, we are removing Xavion from the App Store and not accepting any new orders. (Note: This appears to be temporary. Keep checking back to the site for updates.)

TruTrak introduced the first digital autopilot and the now standard autopilot servo for use in this market. TruTrak autopilots are installed in a large variety of experimental aircraft, including, all Van’s RVs, all Lancair, Cub Crafters, Epic, Rans with new models added regularly.

Some of the features include:

  • Navigator features
  • Navigator Database
  • 3D Synthetic Vision
  • Aero Nav Charts
  • Terrain Database
  • Weather, TFR's, ADS-B
  • Custom Chart Input
  • Flight Recordings

Combining these four disciplines in one unit gives you tremendous information and control in your aircraft without overwhelming your panel.
