NBAA 2007: L-3's GH-3000 Selected As Standard Equipment In Cessna CJ4

Continues Streak Of Availability In Citations

L-3 Communications announced this week at NBAA 2007 it has been selected by Cessna to supply its Electronic Standby Instrument System (ESIS) Model GH-3000 as standard equipment aboard the Cessna CJ4. The program is valued at $11 million.

“Our long-standing relationship with Cessna underscores the confidence Cessna has in L-3 Avionics to provide dependable emergency back-up systems for its aircraft,” said Larry Riddle, Vice President of L-3 Avionics Systems. “We’re proud to be part of this new flagship Citation.”

The GH-3000 is standard on seven Citation models: the CJ1+, CJ2+, CJ3, CJ4, XLS+, Encore+ and Sovereign. Designed to replace conventional electro-mechanical standby attitude, airspeed and altitude instruments, the solid-state GH-3000 ESIS is capable of providing all three functions, plus heading, slip/skid, navigation data and vertical speed, in a single three-inch flat-panel display.

An Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD) provides exceptional readability in direct sunlight as well as dark cockpit environments. The GH-3000 is the only standby system available that can be customized to visually match an aircraft’s primary flight display system, which provides an additional measure of safety when transitioning from primary to standby instrumentation.

L-3 Avionics Systems has been providing industry-leading, safety-enhancing avionics technologies to aviation markets for more than 45 years. The company, which is known for bringing cost-effective and advanced technologies to the industry, has recently introduced the SmartDeck Integrated Flight Controls and Display System, a next-generation avionics suite and the industry’s most intuitive and costeffective full cockpit system.

Additionally, the company continues to provide a wide array of avionics safety technologies, such as the GH-3000 electronic and J.E.T. standby instruments, SkyWatch collision avoidance system, Stormscope lightning detection system and the IRIS Infrared Imaging System, while customizing the smartest GA flight system available, SmartDeck, for the next generation of aircraft.
