U.S. Company To Offer Aviation Leadership Training In China

Hamilton Sundstrand Signs MOU With AVIC To Teach Project Management, Competitiveness

Officials of Hamilton Sundstrand representing United Technologies Corporation (UTC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), for cooperation on leadership training for AVIC's commercial aviation businesses, including project management training and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) training.

The training programs, a collaboration among United Technologies' aerospace companies Hamilton Sundstrand, Pratt & Whitney and Sikorsky together with AVIC will provide targeted curriculum for senior executives, mid-level managers and high potential employees from AVIC's commercial aviation businesses. Training is scheduled to begin later this year.

"With this agreement AVIC's commercial aviation business employees will be able to learn critical leadership and project management skills from a world-class and well-respected OEM.," said Gao Jianshe, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, AVIC, as the MOU was announced Tuesday.

"UTC is pleased to offer AVIC the China Civil Aviation Leadership Program," said Hamilton Sundstrand President Alain Bellemare. "We look forward to working together with AVIC in delivering the curriculum to help meet their business leadership needs."

"Through training offered at Pratt & Whitney's Customer Training Centers in East Hartford, CT, and Beijing, China, UTC will conduct a significant portion of the executive-level training created with AVIC," said Liping Xie, senior managing director for the aerospace business units in China. "This cooperation provides an excellent opportunity to enhance UTC's relationship with AVIC in the field of commercial aviation."
