FMS, HUD, And Up Front Control Panel To Be Installed In Turboprop Training Airplanes

Esterline CMC Electronics' (CMC) has been awarded contracts by Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. to supply its latest generation CMA-9000 Flight Management System (FMS), SparrowHawk Head-Up Display (HUD) sub-system as well as Up Front Control Panel for the fleets of PC-21 turboprop training aircraft selected by two international customers.

"Esterline CMC is very pleased to supply its high-performance avionics for the PC-21 aircraft, given Pilatus's prestigious product line and reputation, and the unique profile of the PC-21," said Esterline CMC's Jean-Michel Comtois, vice-president, marketing and sales, government and public affairs.

The CMA-9000 is a family of compact FMS variants that is well suited for modern digital cockpits in fixed and rotary wing aircraft for both civil and military applications. The company's FMS systems are in service with over 60 airlines and military operators. The HUD sub-system includes Esterline CMC's SparrowHawk HUD integrated with a HUD symbol generator and a video display unit.

Esterline CMC Electronics has previously supplied its CMA-9000 Flight Management System and SparrowHawk HUD to Pilatus as a standard fit on the fleet of PC-21s for all current PC-21 fleet operators.
