Oshkosh Highlights The Latest On New Rule
By ANN Correspondent John Ballentyne
Last year at EAA AirVenture, FAA was proud to have just released
the new (and complex) rules for sport pilots and light-sport
aircraft. Predictably, the past year has been very busy for the
folks in FAA Light-Sport Aviation Branch, AFS-610.
Light-Sport Aviation Branch Manager, Martin Weaver, reports that
FAA is bringing six in-house experts to operate an exhibit in the
FAA Aviation Safety Center from Monday, July 25th, through Sunday,
July 31st. They invite you to stop by with your questions and
comments.
Additionally, there are two forum topics which will be offered
by FAA in five public presentations:
- Registration And Certification Of Light Sport Aircraft
- Sport Pilot Flight Instructor Duties and Responsibilities
Three of the forums will be in the ultralight area and two will
be in the FAA Aviation Safety Center as follows:
Tuesday, July 26th, from 1000 - 1115 in the Ultralight tent
(South Ultralight Area).
Van Stumpner from the FAA Light Sport Standardization Board will
present "Registration And Certification Of Light Sport
Aircraft."
Wednesday , July 27th, from 1000am - 1115 in the Ultralight
tent (South Ultralight Area).
