David E. Jackson, President of King
Schools, has been named CEO and President by Co-Chairmen John and
Martha King.
Martha commented, "Dave has been responsible for all operations
of King Schools for years now and John and I decided to make his
CEO status official."
John added, "Martha and I recognize that our greatest
contributions to the company are in the development of our courses
and in managing the way we relate to our customers, rather than in
running daily operations. We will remain active in these functions,
but Dave is in complete control of keeping all the parts moving in
coordination."
Dave Jackson has been a pilot for more than twenty-five years.
He holds a Commercial license with an instrument rating, a
multi-engine rating, and a Cessna Citation type-rating, and owns a
Beechcraft Debonair.
Jackson joined King Schools in 1997, coming from a background in
television and film production. Jackson has been a director of
photography on Disney productions, a producer/director of feature
films, an executive producer of an ABC television series, and the
supervising producer of ABC's Wide World of Flying for Capital
Cities/ABC in New York, working with Phil Boyer before his days as
President of AOPA.
John reflected, "Many people don't appreciate the sophistication
of the movie business. A producer takes a couple of hundred people
on location, and creates a movie on-time and on-budget that is an
artistic success and sells in the market place. Movie producers are
wonderful managers. We are very fortunate to have Dave at King
Schools."
