Mexican T-6 Down During Air Show

Pilots Ejected From The Aircraft Before It Impacted Terrain

A Mexican Air Force Hawker Beechcraft T-6C Texan participating in an aerial demonstration went down Saturday, but fortunately both pilots were able to eject from the aircraft before it impacted terrain.

The plane was taking part in the Aerospace Fair 2015 in the State of Mexico. The Mexico Daily News reports that the pilots apparently lost control of the airplane during a late-morning flight.

After the pilots ejected from the aircraft, it reportedly went down on the grounds of the Santa Lucia air base. There were no injuries or damage to property, other than the loss of the airplane, according to the report.

The air show was the final event of the Aerospace Fair, which was organized to celebrate the fast-growing aerospace industry in Mexico.

The aircraft was one of five delivered in 2012 used to create Mexico's Air Force Air-Tactical Military School's (EMAATFA) display team in 2013.
