Florida Sheriffs Office Selects Sagem's Cockpit Display System

Now Being Installed In Seminole County's New AS350

Sagem Avionics Inc. tells ANN the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, based at Orlando Sanford International Airport in Sanford, FL recently selected the Sagem Integrated Cockpit Display System (ICDS) for their Eurocopter AS350 B3.

The aircraft will be equipped with a single (ICDS-8) Primary Flight Display (PFD) using a Sagem Avionics active matrix Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) as a Primary Flight Display (PFD) screen. Flight information including attitude, altitude, vertical speed, and airspeed is immediately available on the SAGEM display reducing the scan and fatigue required for checking instrumentation. Heading information is displayed on a 360 degree Heading Situation Indicator (HSI) with a navigation overlay.

Seminole County Sheriff's Office Lt. Jerry Human and Chief Pilot Steve Farris took delivery of the new AS350 B3 recently, at the American Eurocopter facility in Grand Prairie, TX. The Sagem cockpit displays will be installed during the aircraft completion at Texas Aviation Services, located at Fort Worth-Meacham Airport.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement services for approximately 400,000 residents covering approximately 354 square miles. The Sheriff's Aviation Unit provides air support for seven municipalities within Seminole County.

"We are looking forward to the Sagem display integration into our cockpit," said Farris. The Sagem Cockpit will bring our law enforcement aircraft to the standard found in most corporate and airline aircraft and provides reliable and user friendly flight data for the aircrews."
