New Pump At MCI Will Offer Avgas 24/7... At Reduced Rates!
Yingling Aviation, a mainstay for pilots in southern Kansas
since the company established is original location in 1946 at the
old Wichita Municipal Airport, recently added a self-service
refueling station for users of 100 low lead gasoline at its
headquarters at Wichita Intercontinental Airport (ICT).
Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the fuel pump will
provide 100LL for piston-engine aircraft at rates that are
significantly lower than full-service charges, as well. It will be
located at the south end of the Yingling ramp adjacent to the
airport fuel farm. Operating much the same way an automotive
self-service pump, the self-service facility will allow customers
to pay with a credit card and pump their own fuel.
Yingling is adding the self-service avgas refueling "to provide
our customers with an avgas fueling option," said Yingling CEO Lynn
Nichols. "The savings and convenience associated with self-service
refueling means that our pricing will be competitive with any other
facility in the area and purchases at the self-serve pump qualify
for the Phillips 66 WingPoints program. We will continue to offer
unmatched service in all the other aspects of our business, as
well."
"The Airport Authority is strongly in favor of anything that
will help General Aviation pilots cut their costs of flying," added
Victor White, Wichita's Director of Airports. "Self-service fueling
stations have been highly successful at other airports across the
country in providing fuel at a lower cost than full-service
facilities. We've got to do everything we can to boost the industry
and keep folks flying."
Yingling is a long-standing affiliate of the Cessna Aircraft
Company and has been designated as one of three domestic sites to
reassemble and test fly the new Cessna SkyCatcher personal and
training aircraft. The company also installs the Oasis interior in
Cessna's single engine turboprop Caravans. Yingling is also an
authorized dealer and service provider for a leading component and
systems manufacturers including Avidyne, Garmin, McCauley, Rockwell
Collins, and Honeywell as well as Phillips Petroleum.
