Heckuva Deal! Symphony Selects Avidyne Entegra For The Symphony 160

First Two-Seat Aircraft To Adopt The Entegra Integrated Flight Deck...

Symphony Aircraft Industries has selected Avidyne's FlightMax Entegra integrated flight deck for the Symphony 160 aircraft. With Symphony's selection of Entegra for the first two-seat aircraft with an integrated flight deck, Avidyne extends its leadership in the training and entry-level segments of the general aviation market.

The FlightMax Entegra system for the Symphony 160 aircraft consists of two 10.4-inch diagonal, high-resolution, sunlight-readable displays, including an EXP5000 primary flight display (PFD) with integrated solid-state air data and attitude/heading reference system (ADAHRS) and primary engine instruments. The EX5000 multi-function display (MFD) in the Symphony 160 provides a full-featured moving map and comes standard with the EMax™ Engine Instrumentation system. Options include XM WX weather and Avidyne's exclusive MultiLink™ datalink graphical weather, and FlightCenter services providing flight tracking and two-way text messaging capabilities.

Additional options include an autopilot with integrated Flight Director, autopilot mode annunciations and integrated altitude pre-selector on the EXP5000, and CMax™ Jeppesen JeppView® electronic chart display.

The Symphony 160 is a spacious two-seat, single-engine, high-wing aircraft with fixed tricycle landing gear designed for recreational, training and utility operation. It is powered by the proven and reliable Textron Lycoming model O-320-D2A engine with a fixed two-bladed MT composite/wood-core propeller. The modern design and materials used in the Symphony 160 form the basis for exceptional flight characteristics, excellent performance, safe operation and serviceability.

"For far too long general aviation's latest technology has not been available on two-place aircraft. Symphony Aircraft Industries is committed to changing that paradigm," said Paul Costanzo, Symphony Aircraft President and CEO. "The Symphony 160 with the Entegra system is the beginning of a new era in two-place aircraft."

"We're very pleased to be working with Symphony Aircraft. With its performance, ease of use, great value, and good looks, the 160 is an ideal aircraft for Entegra," said Mark Sandeen, Avidyne vice president of sales and marketing. "Entegra's standard features provide an excellent value today and a great platform for current and future capabilities that will enhance the long-term resale value of the aircraft. Entegra bolsters Symphony's already strong competitive offering in the two-seat personal and training aircraft market."

"Symphony shares our vision of making integrated flight decks the standard for new general aviation aircraft," said Avidyne President Dan Schwinn. "Their selection validates Entegra's position as the de facto standard for integrated flight deck training for the next generation of new pilots."
