Wedding Guests Sue After Drone Accident

Aircraft Struck Two Guests In The Face

A wedding in New Hampshire was disrupted recently when a drone operated by the groom struck two of the guests in the face, causing some fairly serious injuries.

Digital Trends reports that one of the women struck by the aircraft required 20 stitches to close a gash in her head. The other had her nose broken near the eye, according to the Boston Herald.

The guests said they had been on the dance floor when the aircraft suddenly darted towards them.

The suit, filed in Rockingham Superior Court, alleges that groom Barry Billcliff was operating the aircraft when the accident occurred, a charge he has consistently denied. He said he has been trying to find out who was flying the aircraft since the incident.

The guests are seeking damages from Billcliff and wedding planner Searles Castle. Scott Robb, the vice president of the wedding planner, said that he had told Billcliff to stop flying his drone earlier in the day, and he did not give him permission to fly it during the event. Billcliff allegedly at first agreed, but then decided to fly it again anyway.

The damages sought were not specified.
