Will Be The Fourth Device Delivered To The Carrier's Training Facility
TRU Simulation + Training has signed an agreement with Copa Airlines to provide a Boeing 737 MAX Full Flight Simulator (FFS). The FFS will be used to fulfill the airline’s growing pilot training requirements in the region.
This will be the fourth device delivered to Copa’s training center, which currently has a 737 Next Generation (NG) FFS that was delivered to the airline in late 2015 as well a Boeing 737NG FFS and FFT-X delivered in years prior. The new 737 MAX FFS, a variant of the MAX series, will be configured as the 737 MAX 9 platform. TRU is a preferred supplier to Boeing, and Copa Airlines will benefit from the quality of the 737 MAX simulators and the unique experience TRU has gained during the development program for the OEM.
“TRU is excited to partner once again with Copa Airlines to provide an industry-leading training solution to their fast-growing pilot team. We are very pleased to see the continued success, safety and cost benefits the 737 NG FFS has brought to their training program,” commented George Karam, Vice President and General Manager of TRU’s Air Transport Simulation Division.
“Copa Airlines trusts the high-fidelity training products and support provided by members of the TRU Simulation + Training team. It is great to work with TRU again as they provide us this 737-9 device,” said Captain Pedro Herrera, Training Senior Manager. “When working with TRU, the end result is always well-prepared pilots who provide a top-notch, reliable flight experience to our customers.”
Copa continues to benefit from the Train@Home model that is successfully being used by airlines worldwide to provide substantial savings on the cost of pilot training operations.
