CAE Awarded Contracts Valued At Approximately C$60 Million

Places Four Full-Flight Sims With Airlines In Asia And Australasia

CAE has sold four full-flight simulators (FFSs) to customers in Asia and Australasia, the company said in a news release Thursday. The contracts include the sale of one Boeing 747-8 simulator to Air China and three ATR-600 simulators: one to Air New Zealand, one to Garuda and one to an undisclosed customer. The contracts are worth a total of approximately C$60 million (approx. $55 million U.S.) at list prices. List prices include the value of OEM aircraft-specific data, parts and equipment (DP&E), normally procured by CAE in the manufacture of its simulators. In the case of these contracts, some customers are providing part of the OEM content. These are the first four FFS sales announced by CAE to date for fiscal year 2015 which began in April.

"As demand in our commercial segment remains strong, one of our top priorities remains customer focus. CAE prides itself on offering the broadest range of solutions available, and platforms such as the ATR-600 and 747-8 are examples of our R&D investments being geared to our customers' complete needs," said Nick Leontidis, CAE's Group President, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services. "I want to thank Air China, Air New Zealand and Garuda, for their support and confidence over the last 15 to 20 years."

Air China has ordered a Boeing 747-8 full-flight simulator. The CAE 7000 Series simulator will be delivered in the fall of 2015 to Air China's training centre in Beijing. It is the 19th CAE-built simulator purchased by Air China which has been a CAE customer for the last 20 years.

CAE has sold an ATR72-600 full-flight simulator to Air New Zealand. The CAE 7000 Series FFS will be equipped with CAE Tropos 6000 XR visual system. It will be housed in the Air New Zealand Aviation Institutes Flight Simulation Centre in Auckland and will be ready for training at the end of Autumn of 2015. Air New Zealand currently operates six CAE full-flight simulators including an ATR72-500. Air New Zealand has been a CAE customer for over 15 years.

Garuda has ordered an ATR 600 FFS for its training location in Jakarta, Indonesia. The CAE 7000 Series FFS will be delivered in the first half of 2015. It is the eighth CAE simulator purchased by Garuda which has been a CAE customer for close to 20 years.
