SimCom And Eclipse Aerospace Announce Avio IFMS Equipped Sim

Device Will Allow Pilots To Complete Type Rating Or Recurrent Courses

SimCom Training Centers and Eclipse Aerospace, Inc. are pleased to announce a new Avio IFMS equipped, full-motion Eclipse twin-engine jet simulator now ready for training at SimCom’s Orlando, Florida training center. The Eclipse Jet simulator is an FAA certified, Level D, full-motion device. As such, there is no need to operate an actual aircraft in order to complete all training requirements for the issuance of a single-pilot Eclipse Jet type rating or for completion of any recurrent course. In-aircraft instruction following a type rating is also offered for those individuals who require mentor training. SimCom's Eclipse Jet training is approved by all major insurance underwriters.

"We are very proud of our training partnership with Eclipse Aerospace," states Eric Hinson, SimCom's President. "With this Level D approved simulator, Eclipse Jet customers will now enjoy a high-fidelity training experience using a simulator with avionics identical to those in their actual jets. The combination of our experienced instructors and this newly qualified simulator will allow Eclipse Jet operators to maximize the benefits of training. The result will be better prepared and more proficient Eclipse Jet pilots."

"Full-motion Level D simulator training is a key ingredient in the Eclipse Jet training curriculum, which is un-paralleled in the industry. Training for our customers to the highest level of proficiency and safety is our most important goal as a company," says Mason Holland, CEO of Eclipse Aerospace. "Eclipse and SimCom have built a strong partnership in order to better serve our mutual customers and achieve the highest safety standards. This newly qualified Level D simulator is the next step in that partnership."

The Avio Integrated Flight Management System (IFMS) in this new simulator represents the latest avionics configuration installed in Eclipse Jets, currently representing over 260 jets in service worldwide. Now, in addition to practicing normal and emergency procedures in the simulator, Eclipse pilots training at SimCom can practice advanced avionics functions with the integrated Flight Management System, including electronic moving maps, airport and approach diagrams and the terrain avoidance and warning system (TAWS).
