Aero-TV: Cessna's ValuePlus Program -- Inside Cessna's Citation X

Tom Heck Details the Advantages of the ValuePlus Program and Process

After building and maintaining more than 5,700 Citations to date, the employees at each Citation Service Center understand the level of expertise it takes to build a quality Cessna aircraft.

It's no wonder, then, that many customers turn to Cessna's ValuePlus program when looking to refurbish or buy a pre-owned Citation.  When the aircraft is returned to the Cessna factory, over 20 individuals dedicate their attention to the Citation’s refurbishment process including maintenance technicians, designers, and engineers.

Once a pre-owned Citation enters the production line, the aircraft is stripped to its bare metal; every component, including the avionics and flight systems, is put through rigorous tests and inspections.  Employees meticulously check to ensure that the aircraft is in top working condition and functions as new.  After the Citation has been scrutinized and any required maintenance performed, detailed interior replacement begins.  Every material and soft goods is replaced to the customer’s specifications and any customized details, such as seating arrangements and color scheme, are substituted.

As stated by Cessna Aircraft, the aim for the ValuePlus program is clear:  "to offer a value-priced, custom-finished, pre-owned Citation that looks and flies like new."  The result can be seen not just in customer satisfaction, but also in resale values for most ValuePlus aircraft; Cessna reports that most returns are up to 25% higher than average retail Bluebook values.

Though the refurbishment process takes up to four weeks, Cessna can with customers to maximize downtown by performing any required maintenance and/or inspections.
