Andy Johnson To Manage FlightSafety's Learning Center

Former Naval Officer And Pilot Joined The Company In 2007

FlightSafety International announced Tuesday that Andy Johnson (pictured) has been promoted to Manager of the company’s Learning Center in Orlando, Florida.

"Andy has made a significant contribution to FlightSafety’s training programs and is a valued and well-respected member of our management team. His experience working within our network of TeamCessna Learning Centers, in-depth understanding of Customer requirements, leadership skills and commitment to provide the highest quality training programs and services, made him the ideal choice to lead the Orlando Center,” said Greg McGowan, Vice President, Operations.

Johnson joined FlightSafety in 2007, and most recently served as Assistant Manager of the company’s Cessna Learning Center in Wichita, Kansas. He joined FlightSafety following a 27 year career in the United States Navy. Prior to retiring from the Navy with the rank of Captain, Andy was the Senior Naval Liaison Officer in Sana’a, Yemen supporting local personnel training and development efforts and serving as the Senior Naval Officer at the U.S. Embassy. His other responsibilities have included Commanding Officer, Vanderbilt University ROTC; Human Resource Manager at the Naval Air Station in Millington, Tennessee; Deputy Executive Secretary, Secretary of Defense in Washington, DC and Commanding Officer of Patrol Squadron Twenty-Six at the Naval Air Station in Brunswick, Maine.

Andy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and a Master’s Degree in Financial Management from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California. He is a certified pilot and ground instructor and holds ASEL and Advanced Instrument Instructor ratings. Andy has over 2,800 hours in the Lockheed P-3 Orion aircraft.

The Orlando Learning Center offers training for nine Cessna Citation aircraft and the Hawker Beechcraft, Beech 1900D. The Cessna aircraft include the Citation Bravo, Citation CJ2, Citation CJ3, Citation Encore, Citation Excel, Citation Mustang, Citation X and Citation XL.
