Pentastar Aviation Completes Full MD-81 Retrofit

Select CMS From Flight Display Systems Upgrades The Legacy Airliner

Pentastar Aviation has completed a full retrofit of a McDonnell Douglas MD-81 featuring a complete Cabin Management System (CMS) from Flight Display Systems.

The MD-81 cabin has two distinct customer seating areas which allow the VIP passenger to either relax in business-class seats with newly upgraded leather upholstery, or work at shared table spaces that allow for business meetings during flight.

Many of the seats feature an embedded personal 7" Widescreen LCD monitor to watch the latest Hollywood releases played on newly installed Blu-ray and DVD players from Flight Display Systems.

Each passenger seat can also get direct access to the Flight Display Moving Map which provides real-time flight information so they will always know the current flight status. Each seat is also equipped with a 2-Button OLED Controller to allow for individual audio and video selections.

Flight Display Systems was happy with the results from this project with Pentastar Aviation. Steve Lord, Regional Sales Manager for Flight Display Systems stated, “This was a very unique project that was extremely well planned out by the Pentastar Aviation engineering staff. We were very pleased to have the opportunity to work with Pentastar Aviation on this exciting project. The end result truly exceeded our expectations.”
