First Registered Non-Scheduled Airline To Receive B777
Certification
Omni Air International (Omni) has received FAA approval to
operate B777-200ER, aircraft including 180-minute ETOPS authority.
The Tulsa, OK-based Part 121 carrier becomes the first US
registered non-scheduled airline to operate the B777-200ER aircraft
in passenger service. A second aircraft will be added to the
company's certificate in mid July.
Omni's fleet modernization began two years ago with the
acquisition of the B767-300ER. "The addition of the B777-200ER
complements our transition to a two engine, modern fuel efficient
fleet. We are extremely excited to offer this best in class
aircraft to our worldwide customers. We believe this long range
international aircraft will be a game changer for our sector of the
industry," said Jeff Crippen, Omni's President and CEO. "All of the
employees at Omni expended extraordinary effort during this
certification. The B777 will enhance Omni's ability to offer a wide
body product that provides greater range and fuel efficiency to our
customers."

ACMI wet lease services. The addition of the B777-200ER to our
growing fleet of B767-300ER aircraft enhances our core competencies
of custom designed air transportation programs for both the charter
and ACMI wet lease business," said Robert Jared, Omni's Senior
Director of Business Planning and Strategy. "Our new product
offering is among one of the few aircraft in the US charter fleet
offering individual seat back entertainment for our
passengers."
Omni is in its 19th year as a non-scheduled airline which has
operated to more than 75 countries, with 60,000 flights totaling
more than 300,000 flight hours with a fleet of B767-300, B757-200,
and DC10-30 extended range aircraft.
