FAA Names Two New Members To Executive Staff

New Faces Come From USPS, FBI

Aero-News has learned at an executive staff meeting last week, Deputy FAA Administrator Bobby Sturgell announced two executive selections.

Gary Condley has been named the new Superintendent of the FAA Academy at the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. Condley comes from the United States Postal Service, where he is currently the Senior Executive Manager of the National Center for Employee Development. In that position, he is responsible for all technical, supervisory, and managerial training to more than 167,000 people with a satellite training network that reaches 740,000 people.

Condley has a BA and MA in Organizational Management.

The FAA has also named Jim Trinka, who is currently Assistant Director of the FBI's Training and Development > organization and its Chief Learning Officer, to be the new Director of the new ATO Technical Training and Development organization.

Trinka earned a Doctorate in Political Science from George Washington University in 2001, and a Master's degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 1986. He spent 22 years in the Air Force where he flew F-4s and F-16s and held several training and command positions.

Currently, Trinka manages the FBI Academy for special agents, the National Academy for senior state, local, county, tribal and international law enforcement officers, the Center for Intelligence Training for intelligence career service personnel, and the Leadership Development Institute.

Prior to joining the FBI, he spent more than four years as Director of Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness at the IRS.
