And Now, For Something Completely Different
Jeff Dunham and his wild cast of characters have entertained
thousands of comedy fans in concert and tens of millions more
through his DVD, online and television appearances. Now Dunham --
an EAA member, aircraft builder and pilot in his own right -- is
bringing his stand-up routine and ace ventriloquist performances to
EAA AirVenture 2008.
Dunham will perform at EAA's Theater in the Woods on Wednesday
evening, July 30, presented by RotorWay International. Dunham has
built RotorWay helicopters, and is a helicopter pilot.
"Jeff Dunham is not only one of the nation's brightest comedy
stars, but he has a special connection with all of us at Oshkosh
because he builds and flies his own aircraft," said Tom Poberezny,
EAA president and AirVenture chairman. "His performance is a
highlight of AirVenture 2008's strong schedule of evening programs
and certainly something that shouldn't be missed."
The DVDs of Dunham's performances have sold more than 2 million
copies in little more than two years, and most of his national tour
dates have sold out well in advance. His video clips on YouTube
have drawn an estimated 100 million views worldwide... and "Tonight
Show" host Jay Leno called Dunham, "The best there is."
"Jeff Dunham's comedy and his own aviation interest are a
perfect fit for the thousands of flying enthusiasts at EAA
AirVenture," said Grant Norwitz, chief executive officer of
RotorWay International. "Jeff has long been a member of the
Rotorway builders' family, and we're proud to help bring him and
his colorful cast of characters such as Walter, Peanut, Achmed and
others to 'aviation's family reunion' at Oshkosh this year. It's
going to be a great night!"
EAA AirVenture 2008 runs July 28-August 3.
