Jeppesen Launches NavSuite

Sets New Standard

Jeppesen announced the launch of NavSuite, a fully integrated, convenient collection of Jeppesen's leading applications Monday. NavSuite is composed of JeppView electronic charts and various flight planning applications.

NavSuite is another step in Jeppesen's long term strategy to integrate and package services for convenience and value. With NavSuite, customers in some cases can save 14 to 25 percent, when compared to purchasing each service individually.

Jeppesen services have traditionally been available only via annual subscriptions; but now with NavSuite, monthly automatic credit card billing is also available (western hemisphere customers only at this time). With the automatic billing process, customers receive a monthly summary of charges delivered via email, and there is no hassle with annual renewals.

"Integration will be a key component of Jeppesen's long-range success and leadership in the business and general aviation market," said Kevin Collins, senior vice president. "Our services will not only be integrated with each other, like with NavSuite, but we will also see more and more integration of our electronic charts and data with avionics and airframe manufacturers."

A single update for all the applications within the suite is available every 14 days via CD and Internet download. Customers can keep their data current anywhere, anytime-an important feature considering pilots and flight crews are often away from their home when updates become available.

NavSuite is offered at three different service levels--NavSuite IFR, NavSuite Continental, and NavSuite Global--to address the specific needs of general and business aviation pilots.

NavSuite IFR is targeted for the general aviation market and comes with JeppView and Jeppesen's desktop PC flight planning application, FliteStar. These applications have been specifically engineered to work together with functionality like RoutePacks that allow packets of data to easily flow between the applications.

"NavSuite not only offers convenience, but it also offers service levels developed specifically for various niches within the general and business aviation market," said Mike Abbott, director, Electronic Navigation Services. "Jeppesen is committed to listening to our customers, and NavSuite is a direct result of customer feedback. Many of our customers tend to subscribe to both electronic chart and flight planning services, so it was a natural move for us to simplify the buying and update process with NavSuite."

NavSuite Continental and NavSuite Global are designed for the business aviation market and offer JeppView along with access to JetPlanner and JetPlan.com, Jeppesen's flight planning applications with features more suited to operators of high performance business jets and turboprops. NavSuite Global gives customers the full capability of Jeppesen's JetPlan flight planning engine, while NavSuite Continental offers a reduced flight planning feature set and lower cost. NavSuite Continental is better tailored to corporate operators who generally fly jet or turboprop aircraft within a single hemisphere.

JeppView is Jeppesen's complete electronic Airway Manual designed to view, organize and print charts. It includes vector-based enroute, approach, airport, SID and STAR charts; electronic text pages; and paper area and enroute charts. Also included is JeppView FliteDeck that provides a detailed moving map display (when GPS position data is provided) for unmatched situational awareness during all phases of flight, including approach and ground operations.

FliteStar makes flight planning easy thanks to a planning wizard, vivid vector-based charts and an intuitive user interface. FliteStar allows users to create RoutePacks that can be shared between Jeppesen applications, overlay weather graphics, TFRs, airspace and more.

JetPlanner combines an intuitive Windows interface with the full-featured JetPlan flight planning engine. Users can build and transmit sophisticated flight plans; overlay weather; send messages and NOTAMs via SITA, ARINC, and FAX; file flight plans with ATC; and more. JetPlanner is generally better for planning longer, more complex flights where fuel burn options, ETOPS, drift down, enroute over flight charges and other more sophisticated flight planning features are needed.

JetPlan.com offers Internet based access to the JetPlan engine so users can create flight plans and file with ATC, and much more, all without dedicated hardware or software. All that is required is an Internet enabled PC equipped with Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher.
