Sebring Airport Authority Receives $4.2 Million Federal Grant

Money Slated For Runway Reconstruction At Sebring Regional Airport

Sebring Airport Authority has received a $4,237,317 grant from the FAA to complete the reconstruction of Runway 18-36 at Sebring Regional Airport. Reconstruction includes the runway length extension of 1,476 feet to the north.

“We are very excited about receiving this grant for the reconstruction of our main runway which will allow for heavier traffic and new future scheduled service, ultimately bringing more business to this region," said Airport Executive Director Mike Willingham.

Construction should commence later this year and end in August of 2012. There is no word on what effect, if any, the construction will have on the annual Light Sport Expo scheduled for January 19-22, 2012.
