Acquisition Agreement Signed Between Textron, Auburn University

Will Modernize Flight School Fleet With New Skyhawks

Textron Aviation announced today at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh that Auburn University has signed an acquisition agreement with Textron Aviation.

This agreement establishes the university’s commitment to purchase new single-engine non-complex flight training aircraft solely from Textron Aviation through 2024 to modernize its fleet. To kick off the acquisition agreement, Auburn University has placed an initial order for Cessna Skyhawk 172 aircraft.

Textron Aviation’s relationship with Auburn further demonstrates the great value of the company’s aircraft as flight training platforms. Auburn is also a participant in Textron Aviation’s Top Hawk program this year, which provides students access to industry-leading aircraft as well as unique internship opportunities. The university’s Top Hawk aircraft, which is currently on lease through the program, will represent the first purchase under the acquisition agreement.

Auburn University’s Professional Flight Education program is dedicated to recruiting students in aviation and the aerospace industry, and continues to lead aviation education and research. Today, the Professional Flight Education program is operated by the Department of Aviation in the University College at the Auburn University Regional Airport.
