BRS Aerospace To Host Testimonial Forum At Oshkosh

Pilots Will Relate Stories About The Deployments Of Their Airframe Parachutes

BRS Aerospace will be hosting a testimonial forum at the upcoming EAA Air Venture Oshkosh. The session will be held on Friday, July 27th, 1130 CDT at Forum Pavilion 06.

Presenters will include pilot/owners Dr. Dick Mcglaughlin and John Farese, both of whom will narrate an informative and chilling account of the deployment of their BRS parachute in their respective aircraft.

Dr. Mcglaughlin, flying with his daughter in a Cirrus SR22, was enroute to Haiti over the Bahamas when his engine began to lose oil pressure and subsequently failed at 9000’.  Unable to glide to a safe landing, he chose to deploy his ballistic chute over the water.

John Farese, flying  his recently annualed  Cessna 182, had his engine suddenly quit at the worst possible time…on take off in a moderate left turn.  Entering a severe spiral dive at low altitude (400’AGL) over heavily forested terrain, he also chose to deploy his chute.

Both these events exemplify the purpose of installing an airframe parachute on any aircraft, and the emotional and physical realities of their decision to deploy is a fascinating and very educational story that all pilots need to hear.

A question and answer  period will follow their presentations. Aero-TV will be covering the event, and make it available online. (Images provided by BRS Parachutes)
