Classic Aero-TV: Pilot Communications Display Their Latest Devices At Oshkosh 21

From Oshkosh 2021 (YouTube Version): Cyrus Akradi, VP of Sales and Marketing, Details Three Devices With ANN

“We brought out the BluLink II, the A1 and the P1. The A1 and P1 are carbon fiber, those are three newest devices that we brought out for this year. There is a lot of bells and whistles with it, we have new things from the previous BluLink, we added a USB-C power input, we added an auxiliary input also you can connect the to two devices at once, meaning you can have an Ipad paired to the BluLink and a cell phone paired at the same time,” Akradi says.

“No one else is doing that. Other people are only doing one device currently, so we are doing two devices. That's a really big game changer.”

Akradi says the two-device pairing concept came from the needs of the customer, which Pilot Communication takes seriously and implemented the changes based on feedback from the users.

He adds that it is possible to purchase the BluLink separately from the companies headsets, and add any general aviation headset to the device.

“It comes with the A1 and P1, which is already fixed on to the headset for a combo deal. You are getting a headset and a BluLink, or you can just get the BluLink and add it with any other general aviation headset.”

Weighing in at 10oz, the P1 headset is the lightest in the market, according to Akradi. The design was created with long haul wear in mind. The ear seal memorizes the shape of the ear after a couple wears, and comes equipped with a gel head sealer that is made for comfort and to reduce pilot fatigue.

The A and P in the naming of the devices stands for Active- which is considered the top of the line noise blocking and Passive- which is a more standard no noise cancelling. Akradi recommends choosing the right headset for you based on application and cockpit configuration.
