AIAA Commends The Administration on Continuing the National Space Council

"We Believe A White House-Level Focus On Space Is Crucial"

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) commends the Biden Administration on continuing the National Space Council. AIAA Executive Director Dan Dumbacher made the following statement:

“As the world’s largest aerospace technical society, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) welcomes the Biden Administration’s announcement that it will continue the National Space Council. We believe a White House-level focus on space is crucial to provide stability and continuity to U.S. space endeavors, enabling historic exploration and scientific achievement, continued U.S. space industry global leadership, and enhanced national security. We encourage the Biden Administration also to continue the Users’ Advisory Group, which brings critical stakeholder input to the Council.

We believe harnessing the space sector’s capabilities will help fuel our economic recovery, help solve the climate crisis, and build the diverse 21st-century education system and workforce that America needs and deserves.”

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is the world’s largest aerospace technical society. With nearly 30,000 individual members from 91 countries, and 100 corporate members, AIAA brings together industry, academia, and government to advance engineering and science in aviation, space, and defense.
