Expects STC By Early Summer
Helicopter MRO provider Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services
North America announced Saturday at Heli-Expo 2009 the
certification effort to add the Sagem Avionics Integrated Cockpit
Display Systems for the Bell 407 is well underway, with the
prototype helicopter installation nearing completion.
Vector will display a Bell 407 equipped with the prototype
system at HAI 2009, located at the Sagem booth (#2347).
Elvis Moniz, Director of Operations
for Vector-Langley's airframe and avionics operation, anticipates
Vector will be prepared to provide the Integrated Cockpit Display
System solution to the international Bell 407 market by early
summer 2009.
"We are excited to be developing a cockpit upgrade for the Bell
407," Moniz said. "Once configured with a Vector / Sagem cockpit
upgrade, its capability and reliability will be greatly enhanced.
The system under development consists of various Attitude and
Heading Reference Systems (AHRS) options, regular size or extended
instrument panels, 8 or 10 inch Sagem ICDS displays, Garmin Global
Navigation System (GNS) 430 or 530 interfaces and integrated
Caution Advisory System and engine display, in addition to a
variety of options currently available with our Bell 206
program."
Vector has partnered with Sagem to produce and integrate various
Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for the Bell 205 / 206, as
well as the Eurocopter AS350, Heli-Lynx 355FX, Eagle Single, and
Sikorsky S61 helicopter. The Bell 412 and Eurocopter Super Puma are
leading candidates for similar upgrades by Vector and Sagem. In
addition, Vector also offers a Rockwell-Collins STC; a FDS-2000
solution designed for the Sikorsky S76 and S61.
Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services North America is
internationally recognized for providing superior maintenance
repair and overhaul services from state-of-the-art facilities
located across North America.
