Maintenance Association is pleased to announce 25 years of
giving through its Chapter and Student Scholarship
program. This is in accordance with PAMA's mission, to enhance
professionalism and recognition of the Aviation Maintenance
Technician through communication, education, representation and
support—for continuous improvement in aviation safety,
The Chapter and Student Scholarship Program was created to
recognize and reward qualified students who have selected aviation
maintenance as a career. Recipients of the $1,000 scholarships are
selected on the basis of criteria, including educational
performance, work experience, participation in school and community
activities, career commitment and future potential, financial need,
and recommendation by a counselor, advisor, aviation maintenance
instructor, or current employer.
The program operates on donations from regular, associate,
student, education and company members of PAMA and funds raised at
the annual Chili Cook Off. Awards may be used for tuition, fees,
books or supplies directly related to the student's
program. Individual recipients will be selected and notified
during the month of November. Chapter scholarships provide the
opportunity for Chapters to provide awards at the local level.
The Professional Aviation Maintenance Foundation board of
directors has approved $15,000 to be awarded in PAMA Chapter &
Student Scholarships for 2003. The deadline to apply is October 31,
2003.
