Skyborne Launches APS MCC Course To Put Cadets One Step Ahead

Launches U.K.'s First Boeing 737 MAX Airline Pilot Standard Multi-Crew Co-Operation Course

Skyborne Airline Academy is launching the U.K.'s first Boeing 737 MAX Airline Pilot Standard Multi-Crew Co-Operation course (APS MCC) to help its cadets significantly boost their employability prospects.

The U.K. CAA-approved course is available as a standalone module for pilots who have completed their Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR) elsewhere. The course is also a significant part of Skyborne’s flagship EASA Integrated ATPL and Combined Modular ATPL courses, giving cadets a distinct advantage by providing them with the highest standard of pilot training.

During the APS MCC course, cadets will undertake advanced swept-wing jet aircraft training using airline Standard Operating Procedures. The regulatory requirement for FSTD training is doubled from 20 hours to 40 hours, giving cadets even more time in Skyborne’s Boeing 737 MAX simulator when compared to standard MCC training.

"It is our vision to be the most respected and trusted airline training academy. We are committed to establishing an environment where our cadets can flourish and maximize their career prospects, which is why we are delighted to be launching our APS MCC course," said Lee Woodward, Chief Executive Officer, Skyborne.

“The three-week course was introduced by EASA in late 2017 to deliver enhanced MCC training and we are one of the few flight training institutions to be including this in our Integrated program. Only cadets who achieve the required performance level in their final assessment will be issued with an APS MCC certificate, giving their future employers more confidence as they begin their careers as airline pilots.”

Candidates for the APS MCC course must be holders of a CPL and MEIR and have completed their Theoretical Knowledge Training for the CPL or Airline Transport Pilot Licence. Selection is required prior to commencing the APS MCC course, and upon successful completion of the selection process cadets qualify for the Skyborne Guarantee that relates to this course.
