Australia Gets A New AirShow…Next Year!

‘Pacific Airshow’ To Grace Beaches Over Australia’s Pacific Gold Coast

With the cloud of the pandemic lifting in some areas quicker than others, Australians in Queensland will have something new to look up at in the skies…but they’ll have to wait until next year, specifically August 2023. Late last month, the Pacific Airshow that originated in 2016 at Huntington Beach in Southern California, USA stated they sought to “maximize the adrenaline rush” as the world’s best aviators push the edge of possibility.  At least for the next five years, they plan to bring an unprecedented airshow experience to the Aussies down under.  Pacific Airshow will still maintain a presence in the USA, they’re now branding themselves as “the only airshow in the world with two editions.”

The Pacific Airshow claims to be the only one to host three military aerobatic jet teams from three different countries. For Australia, it is expected to be the largest airshow in their history, wherein the Aussies’ airshows are renowned for catering specifically to enthusiasts, and Pacific Airshow seeks a broader audience, counting families, and the holiday hotspot of the Gold Coast.  The Pacific Airshow plans to expand their reach with ground-based activities, attractions, and STEM displays in an effort to have something for everyone.

Furthermore, the Pacific Airshow organization seeks to align/partner with the local aero/engineering/science organizations and educational institutions to spur interest in youth and adults alike regarding careers in the aero-engineering arena. It’s not all work, play will apparently involve a multi-day festival featuring entertainment, hospitality, A-lister, and VIP meet/greet.  In the authors opinion, much like how other companies have branched out, it makes perfect sense for the Pacific Airshow to relocate to an area where opportunities exist to grow beyond the saturated marketplace in the USA. Considering the number of airshows in Australia over the course of a year approximates to a semi-busy month in the USA, this move should certainly chalk up a win for the Pacific Airshow!
