AeroSports Update: Rob Holland Wins The Gold

It Was A Big Day For The U.S. National Aerobatic Team As Rob Holland Takes The Gold In The Four Minute Free Program On August 29

It’s been reported on the International Aerobatic Club (IAC) website that United States National Aerobatic Champion and U.S. Team pilot, Rob Holland, won the Gold in the "Final Freestyle" at the World Championships.

Fourteen pilots flew in the final program of the 28th World Aerobatic Championships prior to the huge airshow that was staged at the Chateauroux, France airfield which has served as home for the WAC over the past couple of weeks.

This was Holland's third consecutive victory in this program, at which he really excels, and scored almost 300 points ahead of the second place pilot, Martin Sonka of the Czech Republic.  Holland flew his MXS in the competition after shipping it via cargo aircraft to Europe earlier in the month.  Never before has a pilot achieved three victories in a row in this program.

Holland’s performance was, to say the least, stunning. The links below provide more information and a video of Holland’s performance as presented on YouTube. Participating in this international event requires a lot of effort not only as a pilot but also with the expenses involved in participating. We at ANN congratulate Rob and all those that helped him make it to the world Aerobatic Championship Competition.
