Source: Scott D. Hammond, Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Criminal Enforcement of the DOT's Antitrust Division. On Thursday, British Airways and Korean Air were each fined $300 million, after admitting they conspired to fix pricing on international flights. The carriers admitted earlier this month they teamed up with rivals over cargo rates and fuel surcharges added to fares in response to rising oil prices, thus increasing prices to passengers and international shippers.
