Blue Angels Cancel Memorial Day Weekend Appearance

Still Under Safety Stand Down Following Andrews Incident

The Blue Angels have cancelled Memorial Day Weekend performances as part of a safety stand down stemming from an incident last week.

The demonstration team was set to perform at Millville Army Airfield Museum in New Jersey this weekend at the museum's "Wings and Wheels" event. But the team remains on stand down after completing a maneuver too low at a practice show at Andrews Air Force Base last week.

Museum officials expressed disappointment that the Blue Angels would not be performing, according to the Daily Journal of Vineland, NJ, but said the show would go on as scheduled. Scheduled to perform are the Army Golden Knights parachute demonstration team, and the USAF F-16 Fighting Falcon "Viper West" demonstration act. An extensive slate of commercial airshow acts are also on the bill.
